With the weather in Melbourne still acting like a crazy relative…Summer is still yet to arrive, so jackets are a must have item at the moment. A good jacket is like a good friend. You like to know it’s there for you when you need it. And this past week, it has been a key player with keeping the chill away whilst the sun tries to shine through.
It is a good idea to have a variety of jackets stashed in your wardrobe. Casual denim, tailored tuxedo, a bomber… or my favourite go to piece at the moment is a capelet. Perfect dressed up or down, it’s sophisticated and on trend and can be worn successfully with a short sleeved tee or singlet if the weather is warmer,..or throw it over a full length sleeve for a night time outing for a more formal style.
Wednesday was a work day…So I Wore black Stilt jeans, a grey Country Road Tee shirt and a glitzy blinged out choker from Zara. The jacket layer was the soft blue Bassike Japanese denim jacket. Mixing the crystals and the denim is a good mix of shine and texture.
Wednesday night was also my significant others work Xmas Party..With a minimal timeframe to get ready after work I freshened up the makeup and hair..But stayed in the base outfit from the day…and added. So I Wore everything from the day minus the bling and the Denim. I dressed up the look by adding my Black Woollen Capelet that I had made in China. It has a black velvet trim and is elegant and chic. I switched the pony tail to the side, and removed the shiny neck jewels for my Sass & Bide Black velvet and gold tassel piece. Minus the Camelia. A great dinner in Brunswick. ‘Tis the season.
Friday was sunny.Yay. I was channelling neon and sunshiny days. So I wore: Denim Zara zip jeans, Nude Nine West pointed pumps and a classic white tee from Zara. So far so good? Bam. Pink. Neon Pink. The burst of much needed colour was from the Zara Fuchsia silk blazer. It is light and easy to wear. Adding the turquoise blue stone necklace kept the Summery vibe alive. Don’t be afraid to mix colours and texture. Keep it interesting.
Saturday was busy Xmas shopping day and a visit to the hair salon for a much needed blow wave. Bad hair is the best excuse to wear a good hat. I love a hat. So I Wore: Faded Mavi skinny jeans, Taupe Betts Boots and because in my head I’m still 15…my new favourite Mickey Mouse tee shirt from Myer. FYI My kids are not a fan. 3 disapproving looks as we headed out the door. Adding a little touch of glam was the Copper Metallic Bomber from Witchery. The bad hair saver was courtesy of DKNY./
Let’s pray for warmer weather and no jackets in next weeks post!
