Spring has sprung. The Victorian Spring Racing season is well and truly underway, and the weather is as turbulent as a jet flying over the Pacific. So jackets are the only staple item you simply must invest in at this time of the year.
I have a lot of jackets. Fine jackets I’ve had forever…plus the seasonal pieces that are just that. To be worn for just one season. Then toss ’em.
Work Week, so I wore: Pale Pink Calvin Klein jeans, a cream silk Zara shirt, and the Spring Jacket du jour was a cropped baby pink by Mrs Press. The oversized lapel and the puffy shoulders, helps define the waist and adds structure to the look. Nine West nude pointed shoes complete the muted palette. To work I also wore my Fluer Wood Tuxedo jacket, Black Witchery skinny jeans and a way too old Forever New nude silk and lace blouse.
I usually am a serial pants | jeans wearer. Skirts sneak in randomly, but for the races, I have no option but to brave the bare leg. I was lucky enough to win a day at the Beck Caulfield Guineas carnival and with only a 24 hour race wear preparation time frame, I headed straight to Zara.
So I wore: Crisp white Zara pencil skirt with a side split, Black TopShop singlet, almost neon Yellow Zara fitted jacket, and of course an oversized black sun hat from David Jones. Witchery Black and Snakeskin pumps, Ray Ban Wayfarers, Thurley Gold and Stone Cuff and Ivory Chanel Clutch. It was an awesome day, and we were chuffed to be part of all the glamour of the day. Thank you Beck Property Group.
