You may notice the regular Monday fashion post.. “What I Wore”.. has been through a revamp. It’s a popular post and one I really enjoy putting together, so a renovation seemed timely. I wanted to combine it with design and decor and show you how fashion on the runway is often dictated by fashion for the home and vice versa.
Fashion is really bringing out the big guns at the moment in relation to colour. Bright neons and citrus colours are being teamed with neutrals and denims. Its’ the perfect combination of adding some fun to your daily wardrobe, whilst keeping it simple enough that you won’t be accused of going a little crazy.

Decor is the same. You always start with a central point. What is the feature of the room going to be? Select the feature piece (or area) and then layer up around it. We selected black and white custom paper for the walls here and then added the Bam! with the citrus yellow linen chairs. The gold starburst mirror stays on trend with the gold explosion – Love This Space.

If the walls are neutral and the floors are a warm oak timber, this is a perfect combination to add limed timber furniture, textured patterned rugs, soft subtle coloured feature chairs and then… Bam! the pop of bright tangerine on the sofa. This adds personality, interest and is a focal point for the room.

So as you can see, fashion on the streets is not that different from fashion in the home… choose a focus point and add to it. I hope you enjoy the new format. We look forward to your feedback.
