Today I met with our client and he is about to embark on an authentic Italian style Pizzeria journey. A mouthwatering challenge for us and we are more than happy to be paid in pomodoro tomato and mozzarella di bufala!…The brief is to design and construct an ‘old school’ space that will attract a cool inner city customer. Amazing produce is the priority and we need this project to ooze chic Eurpoean simplicity and most importantly…a want of all things Pizza..
We are wanting to introduce oak floors, and throw in a feature hexagon floor tile…classic white subway wall tiles..and my all time favourite material …Carrara honed marble for counter tops and work spaces…
Think of a NYC style deli…Mix it up with an Italian Pizzeria…and this is where we intend on taking this design…So watch this space and in time we shall see how close we get the finished project to the concept brief…Ciao Bellas
I decided that sequins are ok to wear during the day…I know…Big call…Huge…I felt like a little Mid week pick-me-up in the wardrobe department..and decided my inky navy blue sequin jacket was just the ticket. Its from Sportsgirl years ago and I paired it with my Zara Skinny Denims, White Calvin Klein Tee, Witchery gold and chain handbag and a cashmere scarf purchased on a recent trip to India.
The key to getting away with the traditional night time bling…is to dumb it down. Choose jeans and a t shirt…Keep it simple and then you’re less likely to look like: a) you are just heading home from a big night out..or: b) you are off to the pokies in the middle of a work week…neither of these scenarios are a girls best friend..trust me on this..
I hardly ever wear skirts..and I almost definitely never wear dresses…but this week I pulled out an old trusty black knit woollen dress with a huge oversized neckline…perfect for winter.. Its from Nicola Finetti and I added my faux fur vest to keep the look current. Knee high black suede boots from Michael Kors completed the ‘I hardly ever wear a dress look’… this ensemble won’t be making a repeat visit anytime soon…Let’s just say..I like to wear the pants.
Saturday was the day I was waiting for all week…My close girlfriend was celebrating her birthday and the girls only guests were booked to dine in style at ‘Davids’ in Prahran. An chic Asian Fusion yum cha that had us all begging for more of the clean, fresh delicacies… It was delightful..and so was the wine…the champs…and the Vodka shots.. A birthday celebration calls for a trip to the hairdresser for the blow wave…so the outfit to get primped and preened in should always a comfortable one. Bonds Grey track pants, White Zara tee, Sportsgirl Grey sweater, Gold Persol sunnies and black and gold Havianas. Hair coiffed, makeup on and then it was a quick change for lunch. Witchery Black Lacquered jeans, White Zara Linen Blazer, Thurley silk camisole, Kmart Black suede and Gold kicks..and then layer those accessories like a crazy women.
Chanel Camellia ivory and Gold cocktail ring… a recent purchase, Hermes Ivory and Rose Gold Click Bracelet, “the journey is the reward’ bracelet, Samantha Wills earrings, Michael Kors bone watch and Black Cat Eye Ray Bans…Witchery oversize handbag…and then we were off to enjoy the day…did somebody say prawn toast???…
How can I not post about celebrity nurseries this week? With the most famous royal baby being born within the last 24hrs..the theme right now is definitely all things babies. Kate and Wills have certainly had the spot light on them more than ever with the birth of their first born son..the future King of England. The first baby images are not yet out..The name is not yet known..however..the most important question right now..is..how is the nursery decorated??
Will the young couple break from the Royal Tradition with their baby room style?..Im assuming the standard Royalty Style is very opulent and regal..very British..Plaid, Plaques and Crowns??
Let’s hope not…With all the amazing decor ideas abundant around us..I am taking inspiration from some Hollywood Celebrity Baby Nursery Designs…pops of colour, fresh walls, eclectic furnishings and stylish cots..all add up to a super chic baby space..

We are so far beyond the blue for boys, pink for girls nursery fit outs…some brave Mummies are opting for Charcoal, White and Yellow as a colour combo and this sets the tone for a very on trend space..Wallpapers and chandeliers are now the norm..Cots can be Perspex, Nordic Blonde timber or a rich dark stained timber..either way..the pressure is on the design an inspiring space that sets the tone for a very stylish and lucky baby..
Makes me want more babies just to design a cool space…Fit for a King…
I love accessories..I’ve often been accused of over accessorising..I tend to add too many pieces and I’m a repeat offender..But I Own It…
I find the bits that I like, layer them up..turn around in front of the mirror..and add some more..Not the advice that our mothers gave us growing up..but sometimes we have to bend the rules..just a little. There are a number of must have items in your closet that you simply should own to add to the day – to – day go to outfits. Scarves, bracelets, sunglasses and hats. These are the accessory must haves. And they can take the drab to fab in a NY minute.
A Bad hair day need hats. Low T shirts need scarves. A morning after needs big sunglasses. A simple outfit needs a fur or shrug. A pair of jeans and a white T needs a feature kick. A wrist needs bling. Quote. Unquote.
The Accessories : Sass & Bide Camellia worn as a bracelet. Kmart Black and Gold Stud Pumps. Kookai Rabbit Shrug. Henri Bendel Grey Cashmere Scarf. Hermes White and Rose Gold Cuff. Baby Goat Hair Latte and Grey Scarf. Donna Karen Tweed Cap.
This past week has been all about Decoration and Design, French Champs and Soft Cheese, Warm Turkish Bread, Gold Decor and Accessories.. and rocking it out at the Pink, ‘The Truth About Love’ concert…Perfect week…
